The Heights
(Rooftop Bar in Toledo)
Nothing makes you feel like you’re on top of the world quite like sipping a craft cocktail while overlooking downtown Toledo and the Maumee River basin. Housed on the top floor of the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, The Heights provides just that— an upscale culinary experience that elevates all your senses.
The handcrafted cocktails are creative, fresh, and reasonably priced. Mocktails are also provided for those who are looking to drink 0 proof. The stunning vistas and mouth-watering menu will keep you in your seat all night, which makes The Heights the perfect place to bring a friend, date, or larger party.
Music lovers will revel in the “Wine & Jazz Wednesdays” as well as “Beat Fridays,” where a live DJ uplifts the ambiance and keeps the vibes high from 8 pm until midnight.
The Heights is undoubtedly Toledo’s premier rooftop bar.
Blarney’s Irish Pub
(Irish Bars in Toledo, Ohio)
The Blarney is one of Ohio’s rarest gems— an authentic Irish bar in downtown Toledo. Between the warm hospitality, the traditional Irish folk music, and the long list of Irish whiskeys, you will undoubtedly feel like you’ve been transported to Ireland.
Ed Beczynski, a leading restauranteur and native Toledan, opened The Blarney in 2006 after being inspired by the food, music, and culture of Ireland. It was an immediate success, and its popularity grew to the point of having to move into a larger space in 2013. Today, The Blarney functions as a pub, restaurant, music venue, and hosts private events in an adjacent space called the Murray Room.
The menu has an assortment of traditionally Irish meals such as Boxty (Irish potato pancake) and Shepherd’s Pie, as well as exciting cultural mashups such as the Guinness BBQ Burger. The drink menu keeps it beautifully simple with Jameson, Bailey’s, and Guinness on tap, while the handcrafted cocktails will give the classics a run for their money (i.e. the Chai Molasses Old Fashioned and Nutella Blackberry Martini). Also, if you’re up for it you can become a “Hall of Jamer” after drinking 10 Jamesons (not all in one sitting), which gives you bragging rights and permission to etch your name into the walls of The Blarney.
Live music happens every Friday and Saturday, and they also put on traditional Irish music lessons on the first Saturday of each month. The already magical atmosphere is elevated further by the distinctive melodies of the Emerald Isle.
Don’t take it from us— The Blarney is one of the most highly rated bars in all of Toledo. Do yourself a favor and visit this weekend!
Fricker's
(Sports Bar in Toledo)
The ultimate sports bar in Toledo is Fricker’s, which delivers all the essentials: Fun, Food, Sports, and Spirits. With 24 locations across the region, this legendary chain will keep you entertained and filled up on good eats and great brews.
Fricker’s is known best for their “Frickin’ Chicken Wings” which come with an intimidating list of sauces of varying spice levels; everything from Teriyaki, Garlic Parmesan, and mild, all the way up to Nashville Hot and “Frickin’ X-Scream” which they aptly describe as a “gastronomical inferno.”
For those who aren’t wanting to burn a hole in their bellies, the rest of the menu serves up all your bar room favorites like Baby Back Ribs, Beer Battered Fish, and a 1lb Porterhouse Steak.
Fricker’s is also the perfect place to enjoy a ball game with a seemingly endless line of active TV screens. Buy a beer, eat some wings, and cheer on your favorite team: it doesn’t get more classic than that.
Bar 145
(Live Music Bar in Toledo)
If you’re itching for a lively night of music, then Bar 145 needs to be at the top of your list. Located on the northeast side of Toledo, this taproom has bands playing 6 nights a week. Where else can you consistently find this much music in Ohio? They host cover bands, dynamic DJs, and local songwriters sharing their newest material with a rapt audience.
If the music doesn’t draw you in, then the food and drinks will. Burger, bites, and flatbreads— bourbon, beers, and Tito’s martinis. The list goes on and on.
Trust us, this is the perfect destination for a night of entertainment in Toledo.
